NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION

 

This is the official notice that nominations and an election for Local Union officer positions shall be held as is stated below.

 

NOMINATIONS

 

Nominations for the offices listed below will take place on Sunday, March 9, 2008, at 2:30 PM, at the NWIAL Union Office, at 194 W. Lake Street, in Elmhurst.  Those elected to the offices listed below (except for the two Trustee offices) will by virtue of their position also shall be automatic full expense paid delegates to all conventions of the APWU.

 

President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Chief Trustee, Clerk Craft Director 600 (must be a clerk in a 600 office), Clerk Craft Director 601 (must be a clerk in a 601 office) , Maintenance Craft Director (must be in the Maintenance Craft), MVS Craft Director (must be in the MVS Craft), Associate Office Director (must work in one of these offices or their branches:  Glencoe, Glenview, Kenilworth, Lake Forest, Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Winnetka, Highland Park, Techny, Golf, Wilmette, Northbrook, Park Ridge, Melrose Park, River Grove,  Franklin Park, Wheaton, Winfield) and two Trustees.  To be eligible for an office, a candidate must either be present at the meeting when nominations are made, or submit a declaration letter of candidacy to the NWIAL Secretary, Linda Duncan-Retel, for the office desired.  Such a letter to Secretary Duncan-Retel may be mailed to 194 W. Lake Street, Elmhurst, IL, 60126, so that it is received prior to the date of the meeting.

 

In addition, to be eligible, a candidate (1) must have been a member in good standing of the NWIAL for at least one year preceding the nomination; (2) must not have served as a 204b for the equivalent of one pay period in a year, for at least one year prior to the nomination; and (3) must not be barred from serving as an officer in the NWIAL by virtue of a decision by the APWU as a result of formal charges.  No nominated member may be a candidate for more than one elective office of this Local.

 

ELECTION

 

Ballots for the election will be mailed to the last known address of every member, between March 11, 2008, and March 31, 2008, and shall be counted prior to April 30, 2008.  The exact dates will be posted later when the Election Committee makes that decision.  If you have moved recently and have not notified the Local, please notify Linda Duncan-Retel, NWIAL Secretary, of your name and current address, as soon as possible, in order to receive a ballot.
